1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PlotLens ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

PlotLens is an AI-powered canon validation platform for writers. The Service allows you to upload documents, extract story entities, and validate narrative consistency.

3. Account Registration

To use PlotLens, you must:

  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Your Content

Ownership

You retain all rights to the content you upload to PlotLens, including your manuscripts, stories, characters, and creative works. We do not claim ownership of your content.

License to PlotLens

By uploading content, you grant PlotLens a limited license to process, analyze, and store your content solely to provide the Service. This license ends when you delete your content or account.

Your Work Is Protected

We do not use your content to train AI models. We do not share your content with third parties except as necessary to operate the Service.

Content Restrictions

You agree not to upload content that:

  • Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
  • Contains malware or harmful code
  • Violates any applicable laws
  • Contains content illegal under US law

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
  • Use automated means to access the Service (except our API)
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

6. Subscription and Payment

Free Trial

New users receive a 21-day free trial with full access to paid features. No credit card is required for the trial.

Paid Subscriptions

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

  • Prices are in US dollars unless otherwise stated
  • We may change pricing with 30 days notice
  • Refunds are available within 30 days of initial purchase

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. You will continue to have access until the end of your billing period.

7. Intellectual Property

The PlotLens service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by PlotLens, Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.

PlotLens uses AI to assist with canon validation, but AI is not perfect. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any outputs from the Service.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PLOTLENS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold PlotLens harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association rules, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court.
